This one popped up in my feed and I found the video very meditative. I think that it’s the combination of handcraft and small factory work that I found mesmerizing. The end results are beautiful. Almost makes me want to do my journal writing the old fashioned way, by hand.
Alas, I went through my handwritten journal writing phase forty-years-ago, from 1981 until May 21, 1986, filling six hardcover notebooks, before switching to computers. And I certainly get how much more visceral it is to write on paper, but over the decades my penmanship, which, as a lefty, was never very good, has gotten entirely illegible. Add to that that I can compose far faster via keyboard than I ever could using handwriting.

Several of the writers I meet with since moving to Portland do their work using pens and notebooks, so far be it for me to find fault with anyone’s methodology, I just know that there was a reason that I switched to computers 40-years-ago (and remember, computers in those days were really clunky beasts…). I just recognize the artistry that goes into creating these notebooks and thought that it was worth a share. Enjoy.
