After I finished building Avengers Tower yesterday, I wanted to do some things that needed be done for the buildings that will be hard to reach once I get the train tracks in. So I decided to work on signs for the buildings. Many years ago I bought a LEGO set called DOTS which were for making signs and bulletin board stuff and I thought I could use elements to make signs for several buildings.
The DOTS set came with a bunch of 1×1 round tiles with letters that I could use for signs. These little tiles were perfect for signs on smaller buildings, like the sign for the bookstore and music store. Then I ran out of the letters (yeah, I ran out of the letter “O”… thus, it’s Flamingo Music, not Flaming Music! Ack).

The biggest sign was going to be the sign for the school. I sorted out the parts, I selected a bright color and then ran out of parts. Damn (see featured image above).
Takes 2. Eventually I figured it out and built the sign, how to make a backing and how to add the sign to the building…

Then I tried to use the small 1×1 tiles to make a sign for the Medical Clinic, but I ran out of the pieces (again…). So I adjusted… (and cheated a little).

I’ve run out of usable 1×1 round tiles, so the rest of the signs in the city will need to use a different technology of method. The Adventure continues…
