So this bad boy just showed up at my doorstep… If you happen to notice a drop in interaction on various social networks and/or fewer blog posts… do not be alarmed, I’m just spending my waking hours in Rivendell. As previously noted, I’m no stranger to large LEGO builds (though I’m horribly behind posting images/videos of said builds; that’s another project I need to attend to…), this will be by far the biggest build that I’ve attempted.
My fledgling one-building LEGO (shelf) city has grown from one MOC based on the Alien Space Diner, to now including a LEGO City Space Lab, LEGO Brand Store and the Natural History Museum, all currently in some level of revision, incompleteness and disarray. That said, Rivendell won’t be part of the “city” but I’ve been wanting to do this build for over a year. At first I didn’t think I could afford it and tried to quell the desire by buying Lord of the Rings BrickHeadz, like all of them, which were much more economical to collect and very simple builds. But when I started hearing rumors of the Rivendell set getting retired and knowing how that had a tendency of exploding the cost, I buckled down, sold a few toys, cleared up some expenses and made the investment.

Of course right now I’m in the middle of taking two online courses, one course I need to quickly complete so that I can drop the expense of that particular service. Also, after finishing building the Natural History Museum in just two days (three sessions), I’d like to take my time with Rivendell and enjoy the build a bit more than my usual manic endless hours without a break method. So, I’m anticipating a slight drop in hours spent scrolling through FB or watching endless YouTube videos and many quiet days and evening squinting at not entirely clear build instructions, crawling on the floor looking for tiny plastic pieces, occasionally cussing at said tiny escapees and smiling at little fictional characters and scenarios. Talk to y’all when I get back (… if I get back).
