Yeah, so they pretty much give away the whole story in the official trailer… I don’t know… Paul Rudd plays a bit of a dick of a dad who compromises whatever values he might have at every turn and isn’t able to listen at all to his daughter. Jenna Ortega plays another shut off art student teen… Rudd says something about not talking since she went away to school, so I’m not sure if that’s college or an expensive prep high school… I know Ortega has done other stuff besides Wednesday and Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (like Scream & Scream VI), and is in another horror/psychedelic who’s trailer played before Death of a Unicorn, but I wonder what other roles she will feature in when she’s done with the smart goth girl thing. She pretty much carries this one and is the emotional heart and soul of the story, which is worth the watch. The rest of the movie is wondering how the others are going to get killed by the demon unicorn that they’ve pissed off. It isn’t Scanners “head exploding” graphic (for you old timers), but it’s pretty close. Some of the victims don’t quite deserve their gruesome fate, but most got a fitting bloody ending. I’m curious how you feel about the ending and whether it was earned or what might have been a better ending. Also, I found a “better” shorter trailer. Enjoy.
