I’ve had LEGO on the brain for more than a bit. Inspired by the transit system that runs at all hours in my neighborhood, I decided to buy the street car train set and I knew that I needed something more than the train platform that came with the set. The special challenge of my set up was that the back-row of my city is elevated (so that you can see those buildings more easily) and I was thinking that I wanted to elevate the whole train route in the city, but with it being at “ground level” for this section of the route and the challenge is that I was going to put the train station on the lower level and have the train platform on an upper floor of the station. I decided to base my train station on the Central Train Station in part because it has a working elevator and I found a great MOC by Brick Artisan that modularized the set.
Here’s the completed version one MOC with the train platform in the back of the bottom floor showing how much space was available in the back, I also removed the back walls to the first and second floor so that you can see into the building.
Here’s the completed version two JBB MOC redesign with the train platform in the back of the top floor.
I bought two copies of the original LEGO set so that I would have enough parts to double the size of the top roof and lower floors. I’m still waiting for the standard order portion my parts order, which includes some glass for the elevators and roof tiles needed to finished the “clock tower” portion of the build. Using some parts from my inventory I was able to mostly complete my version of the station while I wait for the missing parts.
I should probably add rails to the stairs and it’s really tough to get a picture of the train parked at the back of the top floor train platform. I’ll figure something out once I’ve set-up the street that runs along that top elevated back section (which is only going to be pedestrian accessible, no cars). I’m also going to need to figure out where else in the city to put stairs leading up from the lower sections of the city to the elevated section… The rebuilding/building of this new city continues. 😎
