I read the Education section of the Project 2O25 Document. My first thoughts were that this document, or this part of this document, was not written by someone or an organization who spent their career in a public school classroom teaching students. At best, this document looked like it was written by someone who felt like whatever was going on in the classroom doesn’t make sense to them or what they think should be going on in American classrooms. Alas, it was all ideology and fearmongering, making it sound like the actual existence of a federal department of education was the problem, as if they had more power in the classroom than communities of parents. I’m sorry, but as a retired teacher with 28-years in the classroom, the scenarios and proposals presented in Project 2O25 were total rubbish. Getting rid of the DoE doesn’t help American public school education. It weakens American education. And you have to wonder, why would anyone want that?
Today’s video is from someone who actually worked at the DoE, unlike the fiction communicated in the Project 2O25 document. You have to wonder, why destroy a thing set up to help students in low income areas and support students with disabilities?
