Yesterday, 2025-05-13, was my 600th day writing in my personal journal. Some time ago I decided that I needed to get away from my habit of scrolling through social media as soon as I woke up, which generally did not put me in a good mood, and chose instead that I would try to write down whatever I had just been dreaming or thinking about. Besides being good for exercising my ability to remember and find words to describe what was usually a jumbled mess of nonsense, it also made me take care to get enough sleep so that I would have those just-before-waking-up dreams. And none of this would be possible if I was still doing the daily 5AM wake up so that I can be tortured all day by uncooperative proto-humans (a la, teaching). In another week and a half it will have been two years since I ended that era of my life (2023-05-23) and I still haven’t recovered from the experience. But that’s a lament for another time. But it’s enough right now to recognize that I try to begin each day with some exercise in prose writing and whatever you find posted on my website is usually worked on the night before being posted just before falling asleep, usually well passed 2AM. Enjoy. Also, please subscribe to my website at JosephBruceBustillos.com. 😎
