While I continue to post short memes and quips online and write short thoughts in my digital journal daily, I have slowed down doing the longer, more involved writing projects over the last few weeks. Partly I felt like I just needed a bit of a break, partly it was the enshittification of reality going on all around me and partly I was completely engrossed in whatever the latest LEGO project I was into.

Then I finally got to the point the other day where I completely ran out of parts and needed to do an inventory and order the needed parts to complete my current project, building a 7-story apartment “modern” building. It took over a day to organize the parts list and place the order and it was going to be until next Tuesday when the first part of the order would arrive. So, I fiddled with a couple other possible projects (creating a city plaza…), and spent a whole day just watching videos and avoiding anything that looked like “work.” Then unexpectedly this package arrived this afternoon:

So, I guess I’m back at work, continuing the 7-story LEGO build. By the way, when there are slight lulls between projects or all the shit that “needs to get done,” I’m reminded of my former administrator, during my exit interview demonstrating how little she knew about me when she said that after I leave teaching that I’d get bored. Ha! This meme pretty much sums it up:

never tell mexican mom i'm bored
never tell mexican mom i’m bored

Happy weekend and happy building, y’all.
