Wow. I just had a post about Social Media removed from FB because they think it’s spam. Wait… what? In the post I shared the tenth video from the guys at Crash Course from their series: Navigating Digital Information, this one on social media and somehow I’ve broken community standards with my post. Wow. 

Somehow pointing out that social media’s business model is to sell advertising and not at all about journalism has gotten me dinged? Or maybe it’s because I list the previous nine episodes with links back to my blog. Who knows. Links & excerpts from the post went up fine on all the other platforms (X, LinkedIn, mastodon, blue sky and threads), but it got flagged immediately on FB. Weird. 

So I clicked the “please review” button. We’ll see. I really do hate the algorithm. All the more reason to subscribe to my blog directly at https://josephbrucebustillos.com (though I do need to improve the PLEASE SUBSCRIBE button at the bottom of the page and in the right column. Ack!).
