You know what I really love? I love it when a career focused social media platform suggests that I “friend” the CIO/Executive who runs the university, a university that I moved across the country to teach at, a university where I loved the people and classes that I taught. But then six later I was laid off from said university when they needed to make cuts because of an “economic downturn.” I don’t personally blame her for my misfortune, but someone in her organization decided that I was expendable and I was given the “heave ho!” with no advanced warning. I’m okay now. I survived the experience, but I had to sell my townhouse and had to move away from a community that I loved and start over again… So, no, I’m not interested. I don’t need to be reminded of the difficult years after this event and what it cost me. Thanks but no thanks. JBB
