Video Fridays: Pat Metheny Lugano Festival: Musical Respite

I don’t know about you but I could really use a break from the reckless dismantling happening to this country’s institutions that looks amazingly like it’s coming right out of Project 2O25, even though FOTUS¹ claimed to know nothing about the document or the persons behind it. Right. Moving on. So, I’ve selected a recording of a live performance by Jazz guitarist Pat Metheny at the Lugano Festival over 20-years ago, on July 9, 2004. Nice.

After watching two movies last week I had scheduled to view over twice as many this week, trying to catch a couple Oscar nominated films and the latest Marvel release. But time, schedules and trying to manage limited discretionary income has influenced my decisions to stay home. I have more than enough “distractions” and projects at home vying for my attention. It’s just that given the unknown nature of the future, I’m reminded to invest in those things that are most important to me with the time and resources that I currently have at my disposal. It would be a good thing for me to pick up my guitar more frequently, I have years of photos and videos in dire need of editing and publication and there are currently three LEGO builds in need of exploration. I can’t let the bozos on the news, in my social feeds and flooding my email dictate what is worth my time and talent. No one is really listening anyway, so I might as well enjoy these fleeting moment and make something meaningful from all of the noise and contradictory energy.

Finally, while looking for a video to share I found that a trailer for a film I shared back in November has finally popped up on YouTube.
