I have two big LEGO sets, and numerous smaller sets at home still waiting to be built. So, attending today’s new store opening was more to support the community than a need to add to my collection (and having just gotten back from a weekend trip to Michigan for one of my niece’s wedding, I do not have the cash to add another big set…). At least this was the mantra that I kept repeating to myself as I drove across town and as I stood in the line wrapped around the store and as I walked around the beautiful store.

So, I “window shopped” and the following images are of the sets that meant something to me. The A-Frame cabin reminded me of the buildings that were popular when I was a high school architecture student. The bonsai reminded me of dad and something that I wished he had taken up later in life (but didn’t). The Natural History Museum was the kit that I would have bought if I had the funds. Finally, the Japan Creator postcard and Alien Creatures were the small kits that I bought. I mean, it would be wrong, even wasteful, for me to have come all this way without making any purchase. Happy Friday, y’all.
